A Truly Sustainable Asian Hub, Danone

Office Design

Transforming the office into an open, flexible and dynamic workplace, Danone’s office reflects an agile work setting to appeal to its regional-visiting and local-based employees. The office features a sustainable, collaborative and community-engaging environment that caters to different work needs.

Inspired by the vision and mission of the brand, the office was designed to provide a sustainable, collaborative and community-engaging environment. As the office hosts both regional visiting and local based employees, an agile work setting was recommended to appeal to both groups. Representing the Asia Pacific region, the workplace embraces unique and eclectic cultures by incorporating country themes for each zone whilst remaining committed to sustainability.

The workplace was planned with a ‘neighbourhood’ concept. Tailored workstations for various working styles. Majority of the seats are unassigned and users are free to choose accordingly. Manager rooms can adapt to meeting rooms seamlessly. The reception holds an impressive greenwall and plenty of greenery are peppered around the office. Sustainable innovations such as the charge as you ride, self powered cycling devices can generate power to charge mobile phones motivate users to choose an active lifestyle. Danone attained the BCA Greenmark Platinum Award.

Studies such as surveys, interviews and workshops were conducted to discern the needs of the users for better understanding. Findings revealed an agile work setting will appeal to both the regional and local employees, providing the flexibility and support they needed. To create a coherent design theme, the design team and the Client handpicked each furniture and display thematic accessories in each space. Design team also visited Danone Paris to experience the pilot project that adopted ABW settings successfully.

This workplace had to be ‘agile’ to cater to its regional and local employees and at the same time, while reflecting a strong company's vision and mission. The team was tasked to meet the objective of transforming the office into an open, flexible and dynamic workplace, supporting the needs of diverse employees.

The project started in September 2016 and finished in April 2017 at Guoco Tower, Singapore.
